What’s Up Dementia… The Song!

What’s Up with Dementia?

I will start with a song that hopefully gives my personal view.

It’s a great song called, What’s Up, by 4 Non Blondes. I’m sorry I messed about with it a bit, so if you want to hear the original, which is much better, then I’ve added it below.

What’s Up? Hope you like my version… I would like to hear your comments, please.

What’s Up with Dementia?

I should say, what’s up with Dementia research?

For me, it is too one-sided. Looking for that elusive magic bullet that will solve it all.

The problem seems to be that while we wait, we are left to suffer without hope.

I was tested year after year, for nearly 25 years. Tests that didn’t mean anything and I don’t believe had any diagnostic benefits for me. It seems that repetition is to get to a point when you can be told, ‘Yes, you have Dementia!’ Then comes the blow you were not waiting for, ‘There isn’t anything that can be done!’ In my case, I had an added bonus, ‘It’s too late!’

Why did I have to wait so long?

I believe that there is a lot that can be done to slow, stop and maybe reverse many Dementia symptoms. The critical fact in this, is time, the sooner we start doing something about it, the greater the chance of it doing some good. If you don’t do anything, then there is only one outlook.

So no more waiting to be told it’s too late. If you know that something is wrong, then do something about it now.

It comes down to doing what we can to stay active, mentally and physically, and living well.

I’ve written a few things here in my past blogs, but if you would like me to research and give my view, then please ask the question?
