Odds & Sods

Would you sign one of my song for charity?

Hi, and thank you for letting me join your group!

So why did I want to join you.

Well, I’m profoundly deaf and have been for about fifteen years—nothing in the right and a little in the left.

After having a BAHA fitted, I joined the Deaf Club at 5 Ways in Birmingham. Sadly, no longer there.
I did learn to sign, but essential and in the English version, not true BSL.

Now, a few years ago, I was diagnosed as having dementia. I was told there wasn’t anything they could do, and for me, it was too late. I’m not one to take things lying down, and since then I have been studying everything to do with dementia and writing a blog called, too late.blog.

Deaf and hard of hearing are more likely to develop dementia in later life.

Late last year, I found research that showed that music, and predominantly singing, is the only activity that stimulates and uses all parts of the brain.

I then decided to start a challenge to raise awareness and funds for further research. This year, I’ve begun learning, singing and recording a song every day, and today’s song is the 197th.

You can find them here:

Now I did want to sign some of the songs, but not being that good, this didn’t happen.

This is where I’m hoping some of the talented people here can help.

I’m looking for anyone who will choose a song that I have sung and video themselves signing.

I would then like to add that to my song and relist it, stating who has signed the song and hopefully, get more people visiting and thus more support and funds.

If you can help or would like to have a go, then please let me know.

If I can clarify anything, then please ask!

Many thanks for your time, and fingers crossed, someone will start the ball rolling!
